Hello,
It has been a while for me to post . My oldest has graduated from high school and I have been very busy with all the high school stuff and preparing for college now, but I did manage to work on these cute flip flops. This is what is on my desk this morning.
These are fun to make.A pair of flip flop (color of your choice of course), two bandana's and pekin shears.
Cut the strips 1" wide by 8" long. Then just tie around the straps. Julia is still going strong with theWWW's so pop over to Stamping Ground to check out other desktops. Thanks Julia I love checking each week .

A Delightful Project
Hello,
I managed to squeeze this delightful project in my very busy last couple of months . While, visiting my mother one weekend we drove to Lorena ( a little town ) down the highway from her home. There was this little antique shop. I found this wonderful little baby clothes hamper.I am always on the lookout for interesting containers for storage.
Burlap, ribbon, Photo images and trims what to choose to cover the top. Fun! I love this part of the project.
First, I printed, ironed, and sewed on the fabric image. Now on to the covering process. I doubled my burlap and pull tight to get smooth and stapled . I covered the staples with a thin piece of cardboard.
I was playing around with what to embellish the side with and I decided to go with wired ribbon. I just twisted, scrunched the ribbon and wahlah!.I liked the way it turned out.
Almost to the end. If you are wondering what the inside looks like here is a shot.It is just the right size for a bag of poly-fiber to keep on hand.

Cute size.Don't you think! Here I'm spray painting it Ivory I like to use Krylon indoor/outdoor in a can.
I love using the handle for spray cans it so much easier on the index finger. Great tool to have on hand.

Oh! I did add this beautiful flower jewelry on the front to complement the final look. Here is a shot of the front
and the top of the hamper.
Hope you enjoyed this post. I loved working on this one and it really did not take to long at all.I just love when a project comes together.

A Road Trip Fun!Fun!Fun!
Road Trips I love them. Last weekend a friend and I left at an early 5:30 in the morning and headed in the direction of Round Top,Texas. Energetic and ready to go. The weather was great.
If you like antiques, interesting decor, food, people watching, and of course spending time with a friend this is a fun road trip to take. Here are a couple of photos I took to share. First stop Marburger Farm, very interesting and unique antiques and stuff.
Magnolia Pearl - Interesting, eclectic, and different. I love it.
After a day at Margurger Farm we headed North on TX-237 toward Brenham. We stayed at a bed and breakfast called Farview. Steve and Linda ,the Inn keepers are excellent host and the breakfast was awesome. So take a break and visit their website www.farviewbedandbreakfast.com. The next day we headed back down TX-237 to go for another day of seeking out treasures. In Round top and other little towns along the this highway there is so much to see. Below is a shot of some concrete decor for gardens and yards. I took this shot while taking a rest.
Here is a shot of some of my treasures.I was on a budget. What an enjoyable time to rest, search for treasures while spending time with a friend.
Food for thought- Sometimes in our busy maybe stressful life we just need to stop and take a road trip even if its for a day. Hope you have a great week.

Matching Cabinet
In last post I shared with you the cabinet I received from my sister-n-law. My husband and I matched some of the designs of the existing cabinet to the new cabinet. Below is the bottom cabinet:
Here are photos of the new cabinet with the added designs:
Before paint and Gel Stain.
Sorry about the color and lighting of these two photos ,I could not get my flash to work. This wood design I found in a smaller size. I was thrilled. My husband carved out the groves on the side.
The color is the same on both cabinets. We tried to match a few design. I am pleased with the end results. I also added new knobs from Hobby Lobby. They have such a great assortment. If your stopped and took a peek. Thank you.

Studio Rearrangement
Busy! Busy!Busy! January has passed and now we're almost through February. I wanted to share a little about some rearrangement I did in my studio. My sister-n-law had this cabinet she no longer had use for so I gladly took it off her hands.
Transformation coming up.Great storage idea! Don't you think. Let me show what was in this spot.
I think the shelves complement the wall and this side of the room.
The cabinet was white and I painted it a cream color and rubbed on a Gel Stain after it was painted to match the bottom cabinet.
Notice the scroll design above the glass. I was excited to have seen the same design at Lowe's and I purchased two a little smaller to attached to the top cabinet. I love it when an idea comes together! Don't you? Well just a short post to share some of the busy that I've been up to.
