A Road Trip Fun!Fun!Fun!

Road Trips I love them. Last weekend a friend and I left at an early 5:30 in the morning and headed in the direction of Round Top,Texas. Energetic and ready to go. The weather was great.

If you like antiques, interesting decor, food, people watching, and of course spending time with a friend this is a fun road trip to take. Here are a couple of photos I took to share. First stop Marburger Farm, very interesting and unique antiques and stuff.

Magnolia Pearl - Interesting, eclectic,  and different. I love it.

After a day at Margurger Farm we headed North on TX-237 toward Brenham. We stayed at a bed and breakfast called Farview. Steve and Linda ,the Inn keepers are excellent host and the breakfast was awesome. So take a break and visit  their website www.farviewbedandbreakfast.com. The next day we headed back down TX-237 to go for another day of seeking out treasures. In Round top and other little towns along the this highway there is so much to see. Below is a shot of some concrete decor for gardens and yards. I took this shot while taking a rest.

Here is a shot of some of my treasures.I was on a budget. What an enjoyable time to rest, search for treasures while spending time with a friend.

Food for thought- Sometimes in our busy maybe stressful life we just need to stop and take a road trip even if its for a day. Hope you have a great week.

Matching Cabinet

In last post I shared with you the cabinet I received from my sister-n-law. My husband and I matched some of the designs of the existing cabinet to the new cabinet. Below is the bottom cabinet:

Here are photos of the new cabinet with the added designs:
Before paint and Gel Stain.

Sorry about the color and lighting of these two photos ,I could not get my flash to work. This wood design I found in a smaller size. I was thrilled. My husband carved out the groves on the side.

The color is the same on both cabinets. We tried  to match a few design. I am pleased with the end results. I also added new knobs from Hobby Lobby. They have such a great assortment. If your stopped and took a peek. Thank you.

Studio Rearrangement

Busy! Busy!Busy! January has passed and now we're almost through February. I wanted to share a little about some rearrangement I did in my studio. My sister-n-law had this cabinet she no longer had use for so I gladly took it off her hands.

Transformation coming up.Great storage idea! Don't you think. Let me show what was in this spot.

No it was not this guy. This is my hubby moving the shelves to the other side of the room.

I think the shelves complement the wall and this side of the room.

The cabinet was white and I painted it a cream color and rubbed on a Gel Stain after it was painted to match the bottom cabinet.

Notice the scroll design above the glass. I was excited to have seen the same  design at Lowe's and I purchased two a little smaller to attached to the top cabinet. I love it when an idea comes together! Don't you? Well just a short post to share some of the busy that I've been up to.

WOWW #77 - CREATIVE - WORK - HOLIDAY BAKING

Good Morning Bloggers! Well today on my work desk is some of the progress of my projects. This week I am in my second week of a new job. So I am adjusting with time ,creativity, work and baking for the holidays. Here is a peek with my progress below.
To the far right is a glimpse of the back part of the folder. The rectangle pieces are going to be the pockets. So far on my altered art the form I've done nothing as you can see. Below the form are going to be her high-heel shoes and if you can see the three little pieces that will be strands of hair (that's the idea anyway). My goal is to have these two projects finished by this weekend. So be sure and check back next week.Well off to work then holiday baking , I just love pumpkin pie. Don't you? If you would like to take a visit  to others bloggers on WOWW then pop on over to  Julia HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #75

Hello,
Everyone in the Wednesday World. Here is what's on my work desk to day -

My trusted sewing machine and fabric. I will be making a hanging file folder with the light fabric. Two new pillows with the zebra. I love this fabric because of the colors are brown & cream, not just black & white. I think they will be great looking on my leather sofa.

This area of my work desk I am finishing up a joy wreath that  I started last week . I am playing with my cricket. Oh! the dominoes and dress form I am going to start an altered art piece and enter Alter Monthly. Nothing like working on three projects at once. But it is so fun to challenge yourself.
I'm off to visit creative minds over at Julia at Stamping Ground.
HAVE A GREAT DAY !
