Wall Paper Sample Books,Magnet Sheets and a Stool
Well I finally got a second post for July. It has been a very busy summer.Do you every like looking through wallpaper sample books? Well several months ago I picked up some from the paint store.(I had creative thoughts in mind.)
On with the creativity. About four years ago I made a trip to Canton, Tx. for trade days . I was on a mission for a step stool.I am what some would say height challenged {to them of course}. I found the wood vendor and purchased my stool. Now off to paint {4 years later }Ha! Well I sanded a couple times and I got the spray paint out to cover the stool.
A couple of good even coats. Notice the two different handles on the spray cans they are designed so you don't come away with painter finger. Sometimes these new ideas are not so user friendly to me.But,I have decided that the larger handle is the easiest to hold, pull , release and for me leaves no painter finger.
Now, the ideas came flowing to search the WPSB - to see what I could find to decoupage on the stool. This is what I found ,
then I ask myself do I use them all or just the wine labels or the servers? Do you ever have that problem ?
I played around with the layout and this is what I have chosen.
What about magnet sheets? These are great you just peel the paper off and stick a photo, artwork, etc.to the sticky side of the magnet. I now have my own set of french servers. They are so cute hanging around my refrigerator.
I so hope you've enjoy this post . Have a enjoyable summer . Remember take time for family, friends and being creative.

Recycling A Bag
A few months ago I purchased the Green Craft Magazine and I liked an article I found about recycling a brown grocery bag.
So I thought I would share with you my version of recycling a bag into a gift bag.I cut the sides out to open the bag.
Measure and cut to size with decorative scissors.
Searched through my stamp collection for a cool looking image to stamp on the bag. I choose a baby blue stamp pad. I love blue on brown.
Next, I searched through the scrapbooking stash to find something to compliment the soon to be gift bag.I love the scallop edging and used a zigzag stitch to sew the page onto the bag.
Now onto embellishing. I searched again through my stamps and found this wonderful bird. I also found a few flowers and ribbon to go with the bird.
Almost to the finished product.I added twill ribbon for the handles. This doesn't take long at all. So I would like to encourage you to be resourceful and recycle a few brown bags. Here is my gift bag.
Oh ! What is this? An artist coming in along side me. About thirty minutes later my daughter came out of my studio and said Mom come in here I want to show you my gift bag.
She used a travel stamp and letters that spelled Europe and embellished with paper flowers and shiny big brads. She used rubber bands and plastic string for handles. The rubber bands were inserted where holes were punched and the string tied to the bands. This gave the handles flexability to handle a little weight (she said). I thought she did a excellent job.

Stamped Doll
This is my stamped doll. I created from muslin and my collection of stamps.I used the pattern for the body from the book Layered,Tattered, and Stitched : A Fabric Art Workshop by Ruth Rae.
The pattern is easy to use for making other dolls. I just cut out the body, stamped and stuffed.
Ruth used a stamp with a face for her doll. . I decided to try to draw my face on the doll. This is just a quick post to share a little creative time . Enjoy your time.

Card Ministry
Check out my card ministry box. I purchased this at Recollections sorry to say the store closed. This store was the best . I covered the outside using the Once upon a time paper collection.
Covering around the box.
The box came with file dividers. Next covering the dividers with the theme.
This part was pretty easy . The selection of paper to choose from was great.
I added trim around the edge to draw the eye and make it easy to find the different dividers.
After I covered the box and dividers, I wanted to do some embellishing. So I experimented with the foil sheet
again. The foil sheets cut great with the paper cutter .
Here I am using my new punch ( one of Martha Stewart's) . She does have great tools.
Adhering the foil to corners. The foil forms good . I can't wait to try on other projects.I really lik the way it looks on the box.
The inside looks great with the dividers.
The finished product. I really like the color scheme.
Far, Far Away
Well, My box is for ready for me to start my card ministry. Now to design and create cards to keep on hand and ready to send . What do you think about this project?
Create something,

Spring House
School is out for the summer and I am on to the blogging world. This is my Spring House .
I purchased this house with accordion book pull out to embellish on a day trip with my scrapbook buddies in Waxahachie ,Tx. at the Crafty Scrapper. One of my favorite places. The house came with the shudders, windows and door . You can purchase this kit from Mayaroad.com. They have great products.
In covering the house I used Gabi's Garden from the Paper Studio. Paints from Americana,Patio paints and M Scrapbook Colors. Foil pages and flowers to embellish.
This is my first time to work with foil pages. I found they work great. It if gets to crinkled you can just use a rolling pin to roll out the crinkles/wrinkles. I used my paper cutter to cut the size that was needed and a punch to create the design . Oh! I use tacky glue the clear kind to adhere the foil pieces to roof and corners. Great glue.Stamped Dream on the door and Wala . The accordion book is a great way to share photos ,special receipes , words of wisdom or whatever your heart desires.
I hope you enjoy this post as much as I did making this house. Please check back or better yet follow me.
